We booked a day long Navigation Skills course with Iain to learn how to use our compass and navigate our way around the hills. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day, taking bearings, pacing distances and generally wandering in the beautiful countryside around Staveley. Iain was a really great teacher getting all of his points across in a good humoured way. We all learned a great deal and would highly recommend him.

What can I say?
Iain is just truly superb.
We booked him, having read the reviews from previous customers and were NOT DISAPPOINTED.
Ian literally covered EVERYTHING and the children (be it them being 22,20 and 14) had the best time and felt completely safe and supported during the experience.
We will definitely be booking Iain next year and would recommend him to anyone.
One of our children is transgender and Iain dealt with this perfectly and our child was so happy in his company. We were so grateful to Iain for this.

Re: Our week on The Cuillin Ridge, Isle of Skye.

Well – What a week! We were extremely lucky to have had both the weather and the guide we needed! Jim, Brian and I had quite a chat yesterday as we drove home. We could not have asked for more from our Guide (our expensive map!) Without your instruction and guidance – and your equipment, I can confidently state that we would not have completed at least eight of the eleven Munros. It was a huge relief not having to get the map out all of the time and I personally was amazed that having been away for six years, you were able to remember the routes so clearly.

The whole group came together really well and produced a highly memorable experience. Some of the discussions and stories told will stay with me for a long time. My wife, Annie, seems to switch-off very quickly when I talk to her about our great adventure so it is always particularly good to meet up with like-minded friends for a chat about our common interests in The Highlands.

Many thanks for the link to the Drop Box. I’ll have a look at this later but really appreciate that you were able to take so many photos.

I hope that when you return from France, you’ll be looking out for further opportunities north of the border. Your extensive knowledge of The Cuillin Ridge must be used to benefit others.

Iain took us ghyll scrambling and it was a fantastic experience. He was very helpful and flexible. We were unable to go rock climbing due to poor weather so Iain took us caving in the Yorkshire Dales instead. This was a great alternative that we really enjoyed. I would definitely recommend Iain for anybody looking for an adventurous experience in the lakes.

We absolutely loved pur grill scrambling experience on 24/8/23. A family group of 11 ageing from 8 to 42. We had the best time and conquered some fears. Our daughter has ASD and found bits a little tricky but there was different routes to accommodate all abilities. Ian was great and would certainly recommend and book other activities with him.

Myself and two friends booked Iain for the Ghyll scrambling . Booking was easy with great communication. With the booking we got wet suits , over jackets , helmets and walking boots ( 10/10 for the boots , we have done this a few times with other companies but never offered shoes , great bonus )
A few days before we had had allot of rain ! On the day it was dry and sunny , the previous days rain made the Ghyl a great challenge , Iain having our safety as full priority made the decision that his regular route up the Ghyl was unsafe . Despite this we took a different route and it prooved a great fun day .our favourite bit being the plunge pool . He took pictures of our adventures all day which we was made up with . I will definitely book with him again . What a cracking experience!

We had a fantastic time scrambling up Stickle Ghyll with Iain. He made sure that everyone was put at ease, was safe and knew exactly what to do. We were all challenged and supported as necessary, working together to ensure that everyone got the best out of the experience. Even this 55 year old with an artificial hip climbed a couple of waterfalls. I’m sure that we’ll be back for more in future.
