Absolutely Brilliant!! I'd like to start by saying just what a down to earth,decent guy Iain is, he took me and a group of friends for a multi pitch trad climbing course in Langdale.

We had a fantastic day learning everything we needed to get started trad climbing, with very clear and helpful instruction.

Iain is a very good teacher he didn’t just tell us what to do, he gave us a good understanding of why and how things worked.

I was really surprised just how much we fit into our day and how much we all learned so it was really worth every penny. We will definitely be back for another course in the future. Thanks.

Two day mountain navigation course with Iain left me feeling 1000 percent more confident about my ability to find my way safely about the fells, especially in poor visibility. Absolutely fantastic walk to Langdale Pikes and High Raise with the Iain who escorted me. Despite relatively sporty and active, I wasn’t too sure what to expect but Iain pitched the walk just to the right level and was very patience when I wasn’t 100% sure I could ascend to a certain peak. I felt suitably challenged and accomplished on our return. I am so fortunate to have seen such spectacular views of the Lake District and without Iain it would not have been possible. Thoroughly recommendable and without a doubt the best part of my trip to the area.

Iain took my partner and I Ghyll Scrambling up Stickle Ghyll on a Sunday afternoon, and we were fortunate enough to be the only ones on the booking for that time. We saw the Lake District from a totally different viewpoint, and had a brilliant time jumping into pools, climbing waterfalls, and even learning a bit about the area we were in.

I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to book with Iain again next time we’re in the area, he was friendly, helpful, took some excellent photographs which were included in the price, and provided all the kit we needed to enjoy ourselves safely. The hot chocolate at the end was well appreciated to get some warmth back into our fingertips too!

I can't recommend this course highly enough. Iain is a great teacher and even in a group of 10 manages to give personal guidance and understanding to the information been taught. The second day is spent practising the skills you learn on day one which helps everything sink in. It’s great value for money and you learn a lot of very valuable skills and knowledge!

We spent a day recently in Borrowdale learning to climb with Iain. Having only climbed indoors prior to this Iain gave us an excellent introduction, taking time to talk us through the basics and giving us some great routes to tackle! I look forward to coming back to Lakes again and do some lead climbing and I’d recommend Iain and the company highly.

In preparation for an alpine trip, I enjoyed two excellent days scrambling with Iain. With his in depth knowledge of the Lake District and experience of alpine mountaineering he was able to put together a programme tailored to my experience and interests. I felt Iain was particularly safety conscious – when we were climbing together he was very clear what he was doing (and why) and what I needed to do. I would be very happy to climb with Iain in the future.
